Did you know Canada.. Walmart posted on twitter today..
Do you think that's true? Do you shop at Walmart? We do for many things - household products, dog food, diapers/pull ups, shampoo, toothpaste, kids toys, etc. But I know many people - especially single people - who purchase all these items at Shoppers or the grocery store and never step foot into Walmart.
What do you think?

I think it's just hip to hate on Walmart, yet people still go. I found my Mom went on this kick a couple years ago insisting that I didn't shop at Walmart. So I gave it a shot. I'd shop around, go to Zellers, Crappy Tire, Mom and Pop shops etc looking for something. They would either not have it, have a crappy selection of what I was looking for or be really expensive. Then I'd go to Walmart and they'd have exactly what I was looking for at a good price.

Yes, I was discussing on Facebook as well - I agree some staples like paper products and health products are too expensive to purchase at individual stores and there is no one stop shop for all those items except the Walmart. Especially when shopping for a family.
ReplyDeleteIt's a simple equation really....5 people family, 1 income = cheap as I can find! Plus, since I live in a small town, there are no other shopping centres - unless I drive 1/2 hour into city. Budget friendly & convenient. No brainer.
ReplyDeleteYes, we live in a small town without a shopping centre too and only a few small locally owned places. Especially in a working family with small children it would be impossible to stop at 10 different places a week even if the cost was the same (which it isn't).
ReplyDeleteI wish I could afford to hate WalMart, but the truth is, I need to stretch every dollar as far as it will go and if that means going to WalMart to do so, so be it.
ReplyDeleteWe do just about all our shopping at Walmart... crazy actually!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and following from the Canadian Blog Hop! I am now following you!

We were just at WalMart and Zellers today. Zellers was cluttered, and dingy. WalMart was bright and spacious. We bought bikes (at WalMart) for the kids and found they were even made in Canada!!
