  1. Did you know that more children would be adopted, if there was a National Adoption strategy?

Currently, adoption is solely a provincial responsibility, they all have differing rules about adoption, and inter-provincial adoptions are HARDER than international adoptions.

This nation really needs to get it's act together. Hundreds, thousands of kids are reaching emancipation without ANY family support at all.

We also need to get our heads out of our arses when it comes to single parent, single gender and other "non-traditional" family adoptions. I would have thought that AT LEAST one parent was better than no parents at all. Not the attitude in most jusridictions in Canada. Shameful.

  2. Thanks for the info Daleus. I have a friend that has fostered that led to adoption and I know it's different rules even from town to town on how fostering works - sounds like a difficult system to navigate.

  3. We're working on it Daleus...there are many many people in the adoption community very frustrated with the systemic problems that exist. We need everyone from grassroots levels to participate in effecting positive change. Join the ACC and make a difference !
